Delivery and Shipping
Every order is dispatched from our Sydney warehouse with tracking. Choose Australia Post Standard or Express at checkout, with Express as a paid upgrade. Stocked items ordered before 4pm Sydney time on a business day are dispatched the same day. Every parcel is signed for on delivery and ships in plain, unbranded packaging.
Timeframes
The postage for each option is shown at checkout. The delivery times are Australia Post's own estimates. They are not guaranteed, and regional and remote addresses can take longer.
Signature on delivery
Every parcel is sent with signature on delivery, so it is handed to a person rather than left at the door. Someone at the delivery address will need to sign for it when it arrives.
If no one is home, Australia Post takes the parcel to a nearby Post Office, or to a Parcel Locker if your mobile number is on it, and lets you know where it is. From there you can:
- collect it from the Post Office, bringing photo ID, or from the Parcel Locker with the code Australia Post sends you, or
- nominate someone else to collect it, or see your other options, through Australia Post's missed parcel page.
Australia Post holds a missed parcel for 10 business days. A parcel that is not collected in that time is returned to us, which delays your order considerably, so please collect it as soon as you can. If a parcel does come back to us, we will contact you to arrange a second delivery, and the postage for that delivery is payable by you.
If no one is usually home during the day, use an address where someone can sign for the parcel, such as your workplace, as the delivery address at checkout.
Plain packaging
Every parcel ships in discreet, plain packaging with no branding and no description of the contents on the outside. The only exception is the customs declaration on an overseas parcel, explained below.
Large and oversize items
A few products are too large or heavy to go by post, such as camera poles and solar kits. We send those by Aramex rather than by Australia Post.
For those items we quote the freight per order, because the cost depends on the size, the weight and where in Australia it is going. Send us the product and your delivery address and we will come back to you with a price and a timeframe.
Regional and remote addresses
Regional and remote addresses can take a few days longer than the times above, and Express Post is not next business day everywhere. Australia Post's delivery speeds page shows the current times.
Overseas orders
This store is set up for Australia, and it also ships to New Zealand and a number of other countries. If your country is offered at checkout, the postage is shown there. For anywhere else, contact us with the product and the destination before you order and we will quote the freight.
Overseas orders may attract import duty or tax in the destination country, and any such charge is payable by the receiver. Overseas parcels carry the customs declaration that international post requires, and that declaration names the goods inside.
Overseas parcels are also sent with signature on delivery where the destination's postal service offers it, and a missed delivery follows that service's own card and collection process.
New Zealand customers are better served by securitylab.co.nz, our New Zealand store, which prices in New Zealand dollars.
When something goes wrong
If tracking stops moving, or a parcel is marked delivered and you do not have it, tell us. We deal with the courier so you do not have to.
If a parcel arrives damaged, photograph it before you open it if you can. That makes the claim straightforward. Either way you are covered, and the returns page explains what happens next.
