How to choose a bug sweep package
Start with the property
Each package covers one property. The home unit packages are for an apartment or a home of up to three bedrooms, and the house packages for a home of three bedrooms or more, both including the shared areas such as the living room, study, kitchen and hallways. The vehicle packages cover one vehicle: the interior, the trim, under the dash, the boot and the accessible underside, with the wheel arches, bumpers and sills where magnetic trackers are usually placed. Place the order and a consultant contacts you to discuss the property and arrange the sweep.
Then choose basic or comprehensive
One piece of equipment separates them. The basic packages find anything transmitting during the visit with a wireless bug detector, find camera lenses with a camera detector, and check fittings and cavities with an inspection camera and flashlight; the vehicle packages also use a dedicated GPS tracker detector. The comprehensive packages add a non-linear junction detector, which responds to the electronics inside a device whether or not it is powered, so a bug that is switched off or has a flat battery is still in scope. If someone has had access and may have known what they were doing, or the concern is a vehicle tracker that sleeps between reports, choose comprehensive.

Common questions
How do I book a sweep?
Choose the package that matches the property and place the order. A consultant then contacts you to discuss the property and arrange the sweep.
Which packages find a device that is switched off?
Only the comprehensive packages. Their non-linear junction detector responds to the semiconductors inside a device whether or not it is powered or transmitting. The basic packages find what is transmitting during the visit, and cameras by their lens.
What do I receive after the sweep?
The locations of any suspect devices that were identified, with recommendations and practical guidance on removal and on reducing the chance of a repeat.
Should I buy a detector instead?
For a regular check of your own home or car, a detector is the cheaper answer, and the counter surveillance range covers signal, lens and GPS tracker detectors. A sweep works through the whole property methodically, does not depend on your own technique, and on the comprehensive packages uses a non-linear junction detector, equipment most people would not buy.
Is it legal to have my home or car swept in Australia? Australian law
Yes. Having a home or vehicle you own or occupy checked for hidden devices is lawful. Surveillance devices laws differ by state and territory, but a hidden camera where people expect privacy, a listening device on a conversation the person who placed it is not part of, or a tracker fitted to your car without your consent is generally not allowed. If a device is found, leave it where it is, photograph it and contact the police, because it may be evidence.
