Description

The VIM-PBANK4K is a working USB power bank with a 4K camera built into the body. It records 3840 x 2160 at up to 60fps through a Sony IMX458 sensor and an Ambarella processor, with audio, autofocus and electronic image stabilisation.

It connects straight to your phone over P2P WiFi with no internet and no router involved, which is the main reason to choose it: it works at a property with no broadband at all, within about 26m. Three removable 18650 cells give 10,000mAh and up to ten hours, it records while charging for continuous cover, and it takes a microSD card up to 256GB.

Features

4K at 60fps: 3840 x 2160 from a 14MP Sony IMX458 sensor with wide dynamic range, Ambarella processing and electronic image stabilisation.
Works with no internet: P2P WiFi connects your phone directly to the camera within about 26m, so it runs at sites with no broadband.
Video and audio: records sound alongside video, with a 90 degree autofocus lens that stays sharp across normal indoor distances.
Ten hours on a charge: three removable 18650 cells totalling 10,000mAh, swappable in the field for a longer deployment.
Records while charging: left plugged in it records continuously with no battery limit.
Motion alerts: motion detection sends a notification to your phone when something happens.
256GB storage: microSD from 32GB to 256GB. Roughly 1.2GB per three minutes at 4K 60fps.
It is a real power bank: USB, Micro-USB and USB-C ports charge your own devices.

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

A Property With No Broadband

A holiday house, a shed, a lock-up or a site office where there is no network to join. P2P WiFi means you connect your phone straight to the camera on arrival and watch or download what it captured, with no account and no router.

Your Own Workshop Or Stockroom

Ten hours on a charge covers a full working day, and left on the charger it runs continuously. Motion alerts flag movement rather than leaving you to review the whole day.

Moving Between Your Own Sites

Portable, self powered and quick to reposition, so one unit covers several places you are responsible for over a week. Swap the 18650 cells rather than waiting for a recharge.

How it Works

Load and charge: fit a microSD card between 32GB and 256GB and charge the three 18650 cells over USB-C or Micro-USB.
Connect: join the camera's own P2P WiFi from your phone. No internet connection and no router are needed, and the range is about 26m.
Record and review: set motion detection or continuous recording, then watch live or play back on your phone. Left plugged in it records around the clock.

Specifications

Power: 5V, 2A maximum. Use the adapter supplied, or a standard 5V USB charger or power bank rated 2A or less. Do not use fast chargers (USB-C PD, Quick Charge, Super Fast Charging) or high-output power banks: they can damage the device.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it record before the cells need swapping?

Up to ten hours on the 10,000mAh total. The three 18650 cells are removable, so a charged set swaps straight in without powering down.

Can it keep recording while it is plugged in?

Yes. It records continuously while charging, which is how you use it for round-the-clock cover.

Do I need internet for live view?

No, and that is the main reason to pick this one. P2P WiFi connects your phone directly to the camera within about 26m with no router and no broadband. The trade-off is that you cannot watch it from another location.

What memory cards does it take?

microSD from 32GB to 256GB. At 4K 60fps expect roughly 1.2GB per three minutes, so a large card is worth it.

Does the lens focus by itself?

Yes. The autofocus lens and 90 degree field of view keep subjects sharp across normal indoor distances.

Where can I legally use this?

Using a camera like this to protect your own home, business, property and family is lawful in Australia. Surveillance devices laws differ by state and territory, and filming people where they expect privacy, such as a bathroom or bedroom, or recording a private conversation you are not part of, is generally not allowed. If carers, cleaners, staff or guests use the space, tell them a camera is there. This is general information, not legal advice.
