Dual band L1 and L5 reception is harder to jam and less prone to reflected-signal errors in a city, and an inertial navigation sensor keeps estimating position while satellites are out of reach. It hardwires at 9 to 30V, positions to under 1.5 m CEP, holds 128Mb of stored data for gaps in coverage, and supports remote fuel cut-off.
INS stands for Inertial Navigation System. If the tracker enters a tunnel or garage where GPS satellites are blocked, internal motion sensors calculate the vehicle's movement and speed to keep tracking it on the map until it exits.
