Description

The VIM-HCAM4 is a wall mounted air freshener housing with a camera inside. It runs either from mains power for continuous recording or from its internal battery when there is no socket where you want it, which is the flexibility that makes it worth choosing.

It records 1920 x 1080 at 25fps through a 60 degree lens onto a microSD card up to 128GB, and joins your WiFi router so you can watch live and get motion alerts on Android or iOS. Wall mounting accessories are supplied.

Features

Mains or battery: run it plugged in for continuous recording, or on the internal rechargeable battery where there is no socket.
1080p Full HD: 1920 x 1080 at 25fps from a 1/4 inch CMOS sensor.
WiFi live view: joins your router and streams to the free Android or iOS app for live checks while you are out.
Motion recording with alerts: records on movement and sends a pop-up notification, so the card holds events rather than empty hours.
Wall or shelf: mounting accessories are included, so it fits at head height on a wall or sits on a shelf.
Local storage: microSD up to 128GB, so footage stays in the building rather than on a cloud service.

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

A Wall With No Socket Below It

The vantage point you actually want is often a wall, not a shelf. Battery power and the supplied wall mount let you put it at height, and you can move it to mains later if the position works.

Your Own Office Or Reception

Premises you run, with a notice at the entrance so staff and visitors know the area is recorded. Plugged in it covers the full working day, and motion alerts flag anything after hours.

Hallway Or Living Area At Home

Your own hallway or front room, covering the entry. The 60 degree lens suits a corridor better than a wide angle, which spends its pixels on the walls.

How it Works

Mount or place it: use the supplied accessories to fit it to a wall, or stand it on a shelf, facing the area you want covered.
Connect it: install the free Android or iOS app and join the camera to your WiFi router.
Power and record: plug it in for continuous recording, or run it on the internal battery. Choose motion recording to keep the card for events that matter.

Specifications

Power: 5V, 2A maximum. Use the adapter supplied, or a standard 5V USB charger or power bank rated 2A or less. Do not use fast chargers (USB-C PD, Quick Charge, Super Fast Charging) or high-output power banks: they can damage the device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it have to be plugged in?

No. It runs on an internal rechargeable battery when there is no socket, and on mains power when you want continuous recording. Battery runtime is shorter than mains, so plug it in for anything long term.

What resolution does it record?

1920 x 1080 Full HD at 25fps, from a 1/4 inch CMOS sensor behind a 60 degree lens.

Can I mount it on a wall?

Yes. Wall mounting accessories are included, which is often the better position because it puts the lens above the height people stand at.

How much storage does it take?

A microSD card up to 128GB, which is not supplied. Motion recording makes that last far longer than continuous.

Where can I use this in my home or business?

Using a camera like this to protect your own home, business, property and family is lawful in Australia. Surveillance devices laws differ by state and territory, and filming people where they expect privacy, such as a bathroom or bedroom, or recording a private conversation you are not part of, is generally not allowed. If carers, cleaners, staff or guests use the space, tell them a camera is there. This is general information, not legal advice.
