Description

The LawMate PV-RC200HD2 is the standalone fob in the range: a 5MP progressive CMOS sensor, 1080p at 30fps, stills, and a webcam mode, with no WiFi and nothing to pair.

One button drives all three modes, and vibration confirms what it is doing so you do not have to look. Files carry a date and time overlay and go to a microSD card up to 64GB. The 750mAh cell is the largest in the LawMate fob range.

Features

  • 5MP progressive CMOS sensor: A third inch class sensor at 2304 x 1536, recording video at 1920 x 1080p and 30fps.
  • Three modes on one button: Video, stills and webcam, selected without a menu.
  • Vibration feedback: Confirms power, recording, photo and low battery, so operation is by feel.
  • 64GB card support: Twice the limit of the WiFi model in the same range.
  • 750mAh cell: The largest battery among the LawMate fobs.
  • Date and time overlay: Stamped into the file, which is what makes a clip usable as a record.

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

Recording Your Own Work

An inspection, a delivery or a trade visit where a record of what you did and what you found is worth having.

An Incident You Are Part Of

A recording made by someone present is evidence. That is the case this fob is honestly for.

Documenting a Property You Own

Walk a site you own or manage and record its condition instead of writing it down afterwards.

As a Webcam

The webcam mode is a genuine third use, and it means the fob is not idle between jobs.

How it Works

  1. Charge and load: charge the fob and fit a microSD card up to 64GB.
  2. Start recording: press the button for video, stills or webcam mode. Vibration confirms which mode you are in.
  3. Retrieve the files: connect over USB to copy the MOV and JPG files onto a computer.

Specifications

Power: 5V, 2A maximum. Use the adapter supplied, or a standard 5V USB charger or power bank rated 2A or less. Do not use fast chargers (USB-C PD, Quick Charge, Super Fast Charging) or high-output power banks: they can damage the device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 75 minute figure the battery life or the card capacity?

Both, as it turns out, which is why the number is confusing. The manufacturer confirms 75 minutes of battery life at 1080p and 85 minutes at VGA, so recording quality is what sets the runtime. Separately, 75 minutes of 1080p footage is also roughly what fits on an 8GB card.

Does it have WiFi?

No. This is the standalone model in the LawMate fob range. If you want live view on a phone, choose the WiFi version instead.

What card size can I fit?

Up to 32GB, confirmed by the manufacturer. The card is sold separately.

What is the webcam mode for?

It lets the fob work as a plug-in webcam on a computer, which is a genuinely separate use rather than a marketing line.

Does it record sound?

Yes. It offers video plus audio recording through a built-in microphone, so footage plays back with sound. Audio carries stricter rules than video: recording a private conversation you are not part of is generally not allowed in Australia, so keep audio to conversations you are part of.

Can I record with this legally in Australia?

Owning and wearing a camera like this is lawful in Australia, and so is filming in public places and on property you own or control. Surveillance devices laws differ by state and territory, and filming people where they expect privacy, such as a bathroom or bedroom, or recording a private conversation you are not part of, is generally not allowed. This is general information, not legal advice.
