Description

You tap Live View and wait. A spinning wheel, a frozen frame, and by the time it loads whoever was at the door has gone. That happens when the camera is competing for room on the same 2.4GHz band as every other device in the house. This camera also connects on 5GHz, which is usually far less crowded, so 2K footage loads without the wait.

Features

Dual-Band WiFi: Connects on 2.4GHz or 5GHz. The 5GHz band is usually less crowded, so live view stays smooth when the household is streaming, gaming and downloading at the same time.
2K Detail: 4MP capture at 2560 × 1440, close to double the pixels of a 1080p camera. That is the difference between knowing someone was there and seeing what they were wearing.
Alerts for People, Not Cars and Cats: Human detection filters out vehicles, animals, trees and shadows, so your phone stays quiet until an actual person appears.
Full Colour Footage After Dark: A built-in floodlight comes on with motion and brings up colour footage in the dark. Infrared is there for the nights you would rather not light the area.
Keeps Going Without Mains: A 5200mAh battery gives up to 180 days of standby. Run it on USB-C mains power with the battery as backup, or leave it completely wireless.
Two-Way Audio: A microphone and speaker for a live conversation, so you can give a courier instructions or tell a visitor you are on your way.
120° Detection Arc: The PIR sensor covers a 120° arc and picks up movement at 5 to 8 metres, which suits a door, a gate or the top of a driveway.

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

Front Door

See who is there before you open it. Human detection means the alert is a person rather than the neighbour's cat or a car going past. Two-way audio lets you talk to a courier without opening the door, and the floodlight brings faces up in colour after dark.

Driveway and Side Gate

The side of the house nobody looks at. 2K capture and a 120° arc cover the width of a driveway, and colour night vision gives you a face instead of a silhouette.

Back Yard and Outbuildings

The shed, the pool gate and the back fence, all out of sight from inside the house. You can speak through the camera rather than walking out to it, and 5GHz holds a usable stream at the edge of the property where the WiFi starts to thin out.

How it Works

Charge the camera over USB-C, then mount it on the bracket where it can see the approach. Leave it on battery or run the USB-C lead to a power point for continuous power.
Join it to your home WiFi on 2.4GHz or 5GHz, whichever gives the stronger signal where you have mounted it.
The PIR sensor watches for movement and human detection decides whether to alert you. Clips save to a micro SD card (up to 256GB) or to optional cloud storage, and you watch live view and playback in the free app on iOS or Android.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this support 5GHz WiFi?

Yes. It is dual-band, so it connects on 2.4GHz or 5GHz. Use 5GHz where you can, because there is usually less competing traffic on it.

Will I get alerts for cars and animals?

No. Human detection filters out non-human motion, so you are alerted when a person appears.

Can it record 24/7?

On mains power with a micro SD card fitted, yes. On battery it records on motion only, to conserve charge.

How long does the battery last?

Up to 180 days of standby with motion-activated recording. A busy spot drains it faster, so mains power or a solar panel is worth it somewhere with a lot of traffic.

Does it work at night?

Yes. The floodlight comes on for colour footage, and infrared mode is available for black and white recording without visible light.

Can I legally point this at my property?

Yes, filming your own home, driveway, yard and business is lawful in Australia. Surveillance devices laws differ by state and territory, and filming people where they expect privacy, such as a bathroom or bedroom, or recording a private conversation you are not part of, is generally not allowed. Aim cameras at your own property, not into a neighbour's windows or yard. This is general information, not legal advice.
