A rental, a sleepout, or a new build with nothing in the walls. You want cameras up this weekend and you are not drilling through the house to do it.

Four cameras pair to the recorder over their own encrypted wireless link with a QR code, so there is no video cable to pull and no network setup to work through. Each camera needs a 12V power point within reach, and the wireless link runs to about 30.5 metres. A smart PIR sensor triggers on body heat rather than shadows and headlights, an LED floodlight gives you colour at night with 30 metres of infrared behind it, and two way audio lets you talk to whoever is at the door. Footage goes to a hard drive of up to 2TB in the recorder, with nothing to pay each month.

A rental or a house with nothing in the walls

You cannot run cable through a house you do not own, and you would rather not anyway. Each camera pairs to the recorder over its own wireless link from up to about 30.5 metres away, so the only thing you need at each position is a power point. When you move, the whole kit comes with you.

The front door and the parcels

A motion alert lands on your phone, you tap it, and you are watching live 1080p of the porch. The floodlight brings up colour, and two way audio lets you tell the driver to leave it round the side. The PIR only fires on body heat, so the neighbour's cat and a car going past do not fill your phone with alerts.

A sleepout, a shed or a shop after hours

Once the place is shut there is nobody to notice anything. The PIR triggers a recording and pushes an alert, and infrared covers 30 metres in complete darkness. A 2TB drive holds a long run of loop recorded footage, so a fortnight later you can still find the night you need.

Do the cameras join my home WiFi?

No. They pair to the recorder over their own encrypted wireless link, which keeps the video off your home network. The recorder itself plugs into your router with an Ethernet cable so you can watch from your phone when you are out.

How far can a camera be from the recorder?

About 30.5 metres. Walls and steel cladding cut into that, so keep to line of sight where you can and test a position before you drill anything.

Do the cameras still need power?

Yes. Wireless here means no video cable, not no power. Each camera runs on a 12V 2.0A adaptor and five are supplied, one for the recorder and one for each of the four cameras.

Is a hard drive included?

No. Fit a hard drive of up to 2TB, bought separately. We can fit one before dispatch at extra cost: contact us before you order for a quote. A 2TB drive holds roughly 30 days of continuous 1080p recording from four cameras, and recording only on motion stretches that further.

What is the difference between the colour and the infrared night vision?

The LED floodlight puts out visible white light and gives you colour footage, which also makes it obvious to anyone there that they are lit up. Infrared is invisible and works in total darkness to 30 metres. The cameras switch between them on their own, and you can turn the floodlight on from the app.

What am I allowed to record?

Using cameras to protect your own home, business, property, vehicle and family is lawful in Australia. Surveillance devices laws differ by state and territory, and filming people where they expect privacy, such as a bathroom or bedroom, or recording a private conversation you are not part of, is generally not allowed.
