The VIM-4GCAM20X4K is set up to run continuously rather than in bursts: mains powered, 4K, and with human detection that zooms the lens onto whatever it finds instead of just logging that something moved.

A Sony IMX415 1/2.8 inch sensor records 3840x2160, and 20X optical zoom sits on a PTZ head that pans 355 degrees and tilts 90 at up to 200 degrees a second, patrolling 16 preset points. Infrared at 840nm reaches 150 metres and a white floodlight triggers automatically. Detection covers 100 metres for people, animals and vehicles. A 4G SIM from Telstra, Optus or Vodafone is the only connection, and footage goes to a microSD card up to 128GB. It runs from a 12V 2A adapter and is 250 by 200 by 150mm at 2.2kg.
