Description

A body camera is only as good as the position it records from. Clipped to a shirt pocket it moves every time you do, and half the footage ends up framing the sky or the floor.

This chest harness gives the camera a solid anchor across the upper body, adjustable to about 125 cm so it fits over a shirt or a winter jacket without changing where the lens points. It is built around cameras with a long alligator or crocodile rear clip, runs as a full chest harness or a single shoulder strap, and is polyester so it is light enough to wear through a full shift.

Features

Holds the camera where you put it: A body camera only produces usable footage if it stays in one position. The harness gives the clip something solid to grip so the frame does not wander through a shift.
Built for long clip cameras: Designed around cameras with a long alligator or crocodile rear clip, which need a strap thick enough to bite into rather than a shirt edge.
Two ways to wear it: Use it as a chest harness for a centred forward view, or as a single shoulder strap when a full harness is more than the job needs.
Adjustable to about 125 cm: Enough range to fit over a shirt in summer or a jacket and vest in winter without changing the camera position.
Polyester, for daily wear: Light enough to forget about across a full shift, and it takes the handling that patrol and site work give it.

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

Security patrols

Walking rounds for hours with a camera clipped to a shirt pocket means the frame moves every time you do. A chest harness anchors it centrally, which is why patrol footage from a harness is easier to review than footage from a pocket clip.

Uniforms without a good clip point

Some uniforms simply have nowhere solid to attach a camera: no breast pocket, no MOLLE webbing, a soft polo that a heavy clip drags out of shape. The harness supplies the anchor point the uniform does not have.

Site and field work

Climbing, bending and lifting all put load on a clip. A strap that runs over the shoulder and around the body carries that load instead of the fabric, and the camera is still pointing forward at the end of the day.

How it Works

Set the length: Adjust the straps to sit over whatever you are wearing, up to about 125 cm in total.
Clip the camera on: Attach the camera's long rear clip to the front strap at chest height, then check the framing before you start a shift.
Wear it either way: Run it as a full chest harness for a centred forward view, or as a single shoulder strap when that suits the job better.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a body camera come with it?

No. This listing is the harness on its own. Any camera shown in the product images is there to illustrate how it mounts, and is not included unless the package you select says so.

Which cameras will it hold?

It is designed for body cameras with a long alligator or crocodile style rear clip, which is the most common fitting on patrol and law enforcement models. A camera with only a short belt clip or a magnetic back will not attach securely.

Can I wear it over a jacket?

Yes. The straps adjust to about 125 cm in total, which covers a shirt in summer through to a jacket and vest in winter.

Chest harness or shoulder strap?

It works as either. The full chest harness holds the camera centred and forward, which gives the most consistent footage. The single shoulder strap is quicker to put on and take off when the shift is short.
