Description

A camera pole goes in once and the site keeps changing around it. The gate gets busier, a new hardstand opens up, and the single camera on the pole covers only half of what now matters. This 350mm arm bolts onto any free face of the four-face head on our 4 metre camera pole, so the footing you already have carries another camera position with no new civil work.

The base plate is slotted rather than drilled to one pattern, so common bullet camera housings line up on it, and the bracket underneath sets the tilt. The camera lead runs inside the 35 x 35mm galvanised steel section through two grommeted holes, and every fixing is in the carton. It suits bullet housings only, and no load rating is published.

Features

  • Another camera on the same footing: The pole head has a mounting face on each of its four sides, and this arm bolts to any free one with the screws supplied. No second pole, excavation or pour.
  • Slotted base plate: Eight slots radiate from the centre hole, so a bullet housing whose bolt spacing would miss a fixed plate still lines up. The tilt bracket sets the angle once the camera is on.
  • Bullet housings only: The arm runs horizontally and is sized for a bullet camera. A dome or PTZ camera needs different bracket geometry, so confirm the housing before you order.
  • Flat seat on the head: The 35 x 35mm box section bolts to a flat face, so the fixing has a positive seat rather than relying on clamp friction against a curve.
  • Cable inside the steel: Two through-holes take the supplied rubber grommets, so the camera lead drops into the arm and joins the run down the pole shaft.
  • Every fixing in the carton: Six bolts and two nuts for the arm and two bolts for the base plate, plus a black square cap that closes the open end against water and insects.
  • Finished to match the pole: Galvanised steel under the same white coating as the pole. On coastal or exposed sites, touch up any scratch that reaches bare metal.

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

A Yard That Outgrew Its First Camera

One camera went up on the entrance when the pole was installed. Traffic now comes in a second way and the loading area is out of frame. Uncap a second face, fit this arm, and the same footing covers both approaches.

A Position That Needs Two Angles

A single camera at a gate reads either the vehicle or the pedestrian door, rarely both. A second arm on another face splits the job between two housings without moving anything already commissioned.

A Replacement After Damage

Arms take knocks from vehicles and vegetation crews. Swapping one is a bolt-out, bolt-in job on the existing pole rather than a new install.

How it Works

  1. Uncap the face: remove the blanking cap from whichever of the four head faces you want to use.
  2. Bolt on the arm, then the camera: four screws hold the arm to the head. Fit the camera to the slotted base plate and set the tilt before the arm goes up.
  3. Run the cable inside: fit the grommets to the two through-holes and feed the lead into the arm, where it joins the run down the pole shaft.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I mount a dome or PTZ camera on it?

Not on this arm. It runs horizontally and is sized for a bullet housing, and a dome or PTZ camera needs different bracket geometry. The slotted plate widens the range of bullet bolt patterns it accepts, but it does not change the arm shape.

How many arms will the pole head take?

Four in total, one on each face. The pole ships with one arm and caps on the other three faces, so there is room for three more, and each face has its own cable port.

Does the camera cable really run inside the arm?

Yes. The lead drops from the camera through a grommeted hole into the section, out at the head face and down inside the pole, so nothing is strapped along the outside where wind and sun get at it.

Do I need anything else to fit it?

The fixings for the arm and the base plate are in the carton. You supply the camera's own mounting screws, a spanner, and a second person if the pole is already standing.

How much weight will the arm carry?

No load rating is published. The arm is specified for a standard bullet camera, so an enclosure, a solar panel or an antenna should go on the pole shaft with its own hardware.

Will it fit another pole or a round post?

No. It is made for the four-face head on the VIM-PL-CCTV pole, not for a round post or a pole of another make.

Where can I point a camera on the pole?

Point it at property you own or control. Where cameras cover areas used by staff or the public, signs saying the area is monitored are generally expected. Surveillance devices and workplace surveillance laws differ by state and territory, so check what applies where you are.
