Non-linear Junction Detector Cayman ST-401 (403) 

A non-linear junction detector (NLJD) is a sophisticated device for detecting and localising electronic components hidden within various objects or structures. Its primary function is to identify the presence of semiconductors, transistors, diodes, and other electronic components that might be concealed for covert surveillance, security, or illicit purposes.
The operating principle of non-linear detector is rooted in the non-linear response exhibited by electronic components when subjected to radio frequency (RF) energy. When RF energy is directed towards an object containing electronic components, such as a hidden microphone, camera, or tracking device, these components generate harmonic frequencies distinct from those present in linear devices or ordinary materials.
NLJDs emit RF signals of varying frequencies and power levels, effectively probing the target area for non-linear responses. When the emitted RF signal encounters hidden electronic components, these components react by producing secondary harmonic signals. The non-linear detector's receiver then detects these harmonics, indicating the presence of electronic devices that might otherwise remain concealed from conventional searches.

The Cayman 401 (403) retains full compatibility with all operational modes in the base ST-400 model. The primary divergence lies in the omission of the telescopic bar. This streamlined design proves advantageous for tasks carried out in confined spaces, such as inspecting small cargo, mail, and even individuals. The ST-401 (403) notably excels at detecting and precisely locating operational and deactivated devices.
