Description

The VIM-SPYCUBECAMW is the WiFi version of the 28mm cube: same 2MP sensor, same 120 degree lens and same magnetic base, with live streaming and remote control from your phone added.

It records 1920 x 1080p at 30fps as MOV with audio, and automatic infrared covers a dark room without adding light to it. Motion detection sends a push alert, loop recording overwrites the oldest files, and every frame carries a date and time stamp. The 500mAh cell gives up to 265 minutes, and a power bank or the supplied Australian adapter keeps it running around the clock. Cards up to 128GB are supported.

Features

Live view over WiFi: Stream and control the camera from your phone, which is what this version adds over the standalone cube.
28mm cube with a magnetic mount: It snaps onto a steel beam, a shelf bracket or the supplied stand, so it goes where the view is with no drilling.
Full HD with audio: 1920 x 1080p at 30fps from a 2MP 1/3 inch progressive CMOS sensor, saved as MOV with sound.
Automatic night recording: Infrared switches itself on as the light goes and records without adding any visible light to the space.
Motion alerts: Movement starts a recording and sends a push notification to the phone.
Runs 24/7 on external power: A power bank or a wall outlet through the supplied flexible cable and Australian adapter keeps it recording continuously.

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

A front entry or a hallway in your own home

This is what the WiFi adds over the standalone cube: a motion alert reaches your phone the moment someone walks in, and live view shows you who it is. Let guests and visitors know the area is recorded.

A workshop or a garage you own

The magnetic base grips a steel beam with no drilling, and WiFi means you can check the bench from the office. Tell your staff the area is recorded.

A holiday house or a sleepout

Small enough to sit on a shelf, and the app gives you live view of your own property while you are not there.

How it Works

Charge it and fit a card: Charge the 500mAh cell over USB and slide in a microSD card up to 128GB.
Mount it where the view is: Snap the magnetic base onto a steel surface, or use the supplied stand and mounting accessories, inside premises or a vehicle you own or manage.
Connect and arm it: Join it to WiFi in the app for live view and push alerts, switch on motion recording, and either run it on the cell for up to 265 minutes or plug it in for continuous recording.

Specifications

Power: 5V, 2A maximum. Use the adapter supplied, or a standard 5V USB charger or power bank rated 2A or less. Do not use fast chargers (USB-C PD, Quick Charge, Super Fast Charging) or high-output power banks: they can damage the device.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it record on battery power?

Up to 265 minutes, about four and a half hours. Plugged into a power bank or the supplied Australian adapter it records around the clock instead.

Can I watch live video from my phone?

Yes. This is the WiFi version of the cube, so live streaming, remote control and motion push alerts all run in the app.

Is it waterproof?

No. The housing is not water rated, so use it indoors or somewhere dry.

Does it record in a dark room?

Yes. An infrared LED switches on automatically as the light drops and records without adding any visible light to the space.

What can I lawfully record with a camera like this in Australia?

Using a camera like this to protect your own home, business, property and family is lawful in Australia. Surveillance devices laws differ by state and territory, and filming people where they expect privacy, such as a bathroom or bedroom, or recording a private conversation you are not part of, is generally not allowed. If carers, cleaners, staff or guests use the space, tell them a camera is there. This is general information, not legal advice.
